 I just noticed that Damien is nominated for an Aria Award at this years Arias!  The Arias are shown live on 28th October at the Acer Arena....woohoo more red carpet Pretteh!! ;D The category is Breakthrough Artist Single - Night of My Lifewww.ariaawards.com.au/winners-nominees-2007.phpDamien is up against - Kate Miller Heidke - Words Operator Please - Just a song about Ping Pong Small Mercies - Innocent Something with Numbers - Apple of the Eye (Lay me down)

Yay for Damien! I've never even heard of any of the songs you listed Roxy.  Although I usually recognise tunes rather than song names, so I might actually know some of them. |

The recording must have appeared in the top 50 of the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart published between Monday, 14 August 2006 and Monday, 6 August 2007 inclusive. Artist and groups are not eligible if they, or any member of the group, has previously been a final five (5) nominee in any ARIA Awards category. Artists or groups are not eligible if they have had a previous Top 50 Single on the ARIA Singles Chart, or if they have been in a group that has had a previous Top 50 Single in the ARIA Singles Chart. Entries must be accompanied by a list of group members appearing on the single. |

He'll definitely be listed for the highest selling album... they have 'nominees' for the highest selling categories even though they already know who has won  so it should be a good night for him! |

Also, Damien is the only Idol winner/contestant other than Joel Turner to be nominated for Breakthrough Artist - the other Idol's only ever made it into the highest selling single and CD categories . . . you may celebrate smugly . . . I am!
