Jaysus, I hate the discount stores! $18 is actually less than cost - how can book shops compete with that? If we sell books at that price, we are out of business in a month.

I picked up my copy today at A&R!! Isn't it exciting! Looking forward to finding time this evening to sit down and have a read!  |

Finished ;D Not giving away anything, but I see the links to the album. D's strength of writing is in the dialogue, I think, and a couple of the minor characters are beauties. Now I need someone else to finish so we can discuss it |

couldn't get it at A&R, lady said no none of the shops in Newcastle have it, got it at Borders ;D

Argh! Both my A&R didn't have any!  So I'm gonna try a few more places today, if not I have ordered it and will have to wait like... 10 days to read it!!!   |

I don't have a Dymocks at my centre. I tried Target, KMart, QBD, Myers and Borders. The only one that had it was Borders at $30.99 Out of principle Kath, I didn't get it there, so I don't have my copy yet  |

I got mine at Angus & Robertson but they also had it on display at Collins Book Sellers both for $27.99

I'm about 1/3 the way through & intentionally not reading too quickly, been looking forward to it so long I really want to savour this first read!
Can't wait to start discussing the book in the Review thread! It's so exciting knowing so many are getting the book already and so many of us will be reading it this weekend!!

Good on you Braffy - Borders have been doing that for a while. They reduced the prices of a few books to nearly cost, but they have lots of them (and certainly anything not a new release) at $2-3 above RRP. So sorry that you didn't get a copy though.

You might have seen in the other thread that I could not get it at either A&R or Collins - the only two book shops in our SC.
They said they were not even on order and Collins told me from checking the computer that it said the publisher was out of stock??
