I was rapt that there were so many songs (22). Sometimes us poor NSW folk have had fairly short playlists. I remember at the Vanguard at Christmas 2008 we only had about 10 or 11 songs. It was way down on the normal number and disappointing in that respect (since it was our DLO Chrissy get together). There was one other time too that we had a similar number of songs - maybe we had 12 at the most. The number of Irish based songs may have been what George hinted at when I sent you the text message. The audience wre thrilled everytime he sang one. I am sure if he sang a dirty Irish ditty the crowd would have erupted with applause and sing a long. The audience really did love the show last night so I hope it is another great one tonight. *wishes I was going* Damien was great when he received Dawn's parcel. As soon as she walked toward him he could tell that something was coming his way, but what?? He first pulled out some choccies that were in a heart shaped tin or box and then the undies and he said that he must read out what is written on them. Ooooh! You have a lovely bunch of coconuts He lapped it up and then the jokes were happening all night. When Damien did the high note in Wicked Game (I think), Eric made a comment then about the 'coconuts'

Oh what fun we had and I too agree with your thoughts on the night. Your roght about the amount of songs sometimes we seem to get a shorter set list but I also find it depends how far he is in to the tour and how much he has used his voice as to how many songs he does. Its funny Btaffy was worrying he sounded shaky, but I can honestly say that I have always found the first couple of songs shaky,so maybe it is a case of warming up those vocal cords. Damien seems to love the irish crowd and he was having an absolute ball jumping around on stage to all the Irish music. Wonder if we will get 22 songs tonight.

Thank you ladies for your wonderful reports and I hope you will have another great night tonight. I have to agree with you Braffy re: the instrumental parts to much of a good thing at times. I have always felt that the Solo Guitar in Hallelujah spoils that very beautiful song.

Thanks for the reports, guys! Sounds like it was a funtarstic night and quite different to the shows I've been to, so very interesting to read about. ;D I can't say I've ever noticed them overdoing the instrumental thing at all. I really like the instrumental parts in Hallelujah and Beautiful , and can't think of any other song where they do it to the extent they do in those two songs. But then again, I haven't been to any of the shows for this tour, so maybe they've packed a whole lot more instrumental stuff in.

Thank you all for the reports, sounds like it was a great show, and yes very much the same as ours! I'm loving the amount of songs Damien is fitting in and hope he can keep it up also for the remainder of the tour. Isn't D just hilarious! he has really got quite comfortable with his audience now, so funny. LOL at Dawns pressie I did like the instrumental stuff most of the time, the crowd clapped along every time, I did notice there has been quite a bit more added on this tour, but it's actually really good, (and if it means Damien is on stage longer then I'm all for it! )there are a couple of songs I'd prefer it not happen with though and I think it could be toned down a touch, but I thought about this after my post in the Qld threads, and wondered if it's to help rest Damien's voice for a bit too?, and introduce the audience to Indi's amazing Fiddle playing and her new CD! ........I was thinking at our shows, how brilliant it would of been to have had Damien's CD (REMEMBER JUNE) playing as the crowd were being seated/interval and while leaving the venue! Damien if you're reading this, please consider it, as you could be showcasing some of the songs that you don't get to sing on the tour! Can't wait for some piccies

I was thinking the same thing last night Roxy, about having the CD playing quietly in the background as people enter the room. I love the arrangement of Beautiful with Indi and the violin. That is part of the song. I think what I am referring to is the other bits added to normal songs. It seems to be happening a lot more than usual, but then again, I have never had 22 songs before.
The winner of the Ausp0p competition has tweeted to say that he is going to this tonight so that is good. I know at one stage he wasn't sure if he would be able to make it after all. I hate seeing tickets go to waste. I am sure he will enjoy the night.

As soon as I get all my washing done I will do the photos. There aren't many as I have mentioned because my camera went into a coma (had to happen) and it put itself onto the wrong setting so they are pretty much blurred out of existance. Luckily the boxers photo seems OK. Dawn and Kazza got some great shots.

Thanks for the reports Kazza & Braffy... hopefully his voice is ok, it would be a terrible time to catch the flu!! I noticed on facebook this morning he has made a comment about having a great night, but needing to take his lemon and honey! (maybe he made that comment after reading Braffy's post ) 22 songs sounds like a big night!

Sorry to dissapoint but my photos are really terrible the red light was disgusting I have tried converting a couple to make them more clear I am working on them now.
