Yay for voting family members! Heehee, I think my mother is tossing up some extra votes too. Tonight Damien has achieved something no other singer has managed - she preferred the more rocky version of a song to the more ballad-y version! Although at that point of the show I think Damien could have sung SexyBack complete with dance moves and she would have loved it... after Waiting On An Angel I came back from posting here and she was still gazing at the screen, making incoherent drool noises. It was kind of scary.  Don't you just love it when mums do that....hehe. thats just beautiful Kam....your mum sounds like a real champ. bwahhh..... the visual I got of Damien doing dance moves to Sexy Back just sent me into hysterics.....his disco isn't the best so can't imagine what he'd be like dancing to a song like Sexy Back...hehe. |

He was bloody fantastic! I love all his performances - I initially thought that the Ben Harper song wuld be boring but man it was magical. I'm also delighted that he could arrange the winner's single into something beautiful. Honestly when I heard Jess sung it, I wailed because it sounded like previous idol winners' single (not to mention the lyrics). Anyway, I loved his version of winner's single and will definately be buying it. I have voted quite a few times and will do some cheating through my mum's mobile. Next week I'll ask more of my friends to vote for him ^___^

I'm finally here. And I'll give my comments on the show. I thought Jess was great. But I woulda liked her to sing the new single more RnB style. I think that's her all over. But overall she was good.
And Damien. He's an inspiration to me. No joke. I want to be a chemist like he is. I even studied it at uni. And being a singer, that'd be nice. But I can't sing hahaha, so I'd like to write for a singer. That's my dream.
And now about his performance. The Alex Lloyd song. Just stunning. Maybe better than the man Alex himself. I loved it. The Ben Harper song. Personally I thought he needs to time his falsetto parts a little better, as in when to use them. But otherwise I loved it. And the new single. Wow. I heard Jess's version and honestly wasn't impressed. And thought oh no another dud winners single will be released. But Damien came on stage and blew me away. Sure I thin it's not written (Lyrics) as it could have been. But his arangement of it was amazing. And he sang it really well too. A No. 1 single? I think it really has the potential to be so.

Yes - if that song is what we can expect from Damien's arranging abilities, then I think it could be one of many hits. His version had so much else to like about it I didn't even notice the rather... random lyrics. They really were scraping the bottom of the barrel this year for the winner's song, weren't they?

OH MY FREAKIN GOSH!!!!!!!!!!...HOW BRILLIANT WAS DAMIEN EVERY ONE?. he was the king!!!, He did all 3 songs so good!!. i love him when his on his guitar and his moving and dancing to the beat every noun and then. He looked totally relaxed and i could tell he was enjoying himself.
i also found my self moving and dancing to the music lol. and like amost of u have said, i liked Damiens version of the winners single, it was really nice how he had the acoustic guitars in the background and everything, so Damien style ;D.
Im really nervous now...cause i want him to win so badly he so deserves this!. fingers crossed and voting like mad this week guys!!!!.
I can see it now people..."And the winner of Australian Idol 2006...is...DAMIEN LEITH!!!!!!"

Hehe, I'm prepared for this. I'm downloading songs from some of the other finalists while I wait. I knew there was a reason I put off doing that until later.... oh, yeah, because I was too busy listening to Damien's songs... ;D
