OK, I've checked it out and it's word for word the same as that Dean one we all saw a few weeks back - wasn't that found not to exist after a few days ? Is it back again?
So - just how official is this? I will certainly need proof that it's officially endorsed.
If it's the real thing I'll join, but I want to wait and see.

Hmmmm...smells just like...just like...I know!...Spam!.. (I mean, Scam:) I for one would love to know just what one gets for one's money, and where the $30 fee goes. Now, if it went to promote Damien's work and it could be SHOWN to do that, that's one thing... However, since I personally feel a fan club exists primarily to: 1. To provide a forum for debate (and gushing, lots of gushing) on the artist 2. To promote the work of said artist 3. To inform members on the movements of said artist... Why, I have to say that any fan club would have to be darn good to beat the crew on here!! Think I will stick with this board and save my $30. |

Yes, the main thing I can see of interest is the early access to concert tickets.
I've been looking at the Official Damien Site forum's comments regarding this club and apparently the Dean one is back again, but posters there are waiting to see if this is officially endorsed by Sony BMG and I think that looks like what I'll wait to see as well before considering paying any money.
Doesn't this pose a problem if this is official, and there is a fan forum there, on Damien's official site, and here? I don't think any of us could possibly keep up with 3 forums.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks once we know whether this is truly official or not.

I'll be sitting back and waiting too before I even consider joining up. I haven't had a peep at it yet. I don't know how I would keep up with three forums, I'm not even keeping up with two. I think I've only made a handful of posts in the other forum.

Well... whether it's official or unofficial, the one thing I know for sure is that this whole thing is incredibly unprofessional. The site may look pretty but heck - any kid who knows some basic HTML and CSS and can edit images could come up with something of that quality. No endorsement from the official site yet, inconsistency with stories (weren't these supposed to be up for Jess and Damien after the GF last we heard?) and, to be honest, nothing worth paying real money for are going to make me hold onto my $30. Not that Damien isn't worth the money, but all that is more teeny fandom stuff than artist-y stuff - give me a shiny new album and a seat at the very back of the concert hall over a personal phone call any day. P.S. Damien, if you ever have a reason to call me of your own accord, please disregard above comments. As much as I may protest I'm sure I would still squeal like a little girl.  |

1. Why is there a need to charge a membership fee for this fan site you're promoting when many other on-line fan sites are free and offer similar benefits you purport to offer?
2. How is our membership money utilised and dispersed?
3. Do you have written permission to use the images of Damien on your site? Your interface is very similar to the official forum and I'm assuming that you did read the terms and conditions of the official site before registering as a member.
I'm sure there are many Damien fans who will be happy to pay the $30.00 membership fee to join your fan site and that is entirely their prerogative. I won't be one of them, I would much prefer to spend my money on Damien's music and DVD's thus ensuring that he reaps the benefits of the dollars I spend.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply and I look forward to hearing from you with answers to the questions I've put forward. At time of writing I haven't received a reply. |

Strange, but Damien feels *exactly* the same way Dean does, word for word  My question on the official site was What is Damien's view on the fan club and it charging $30 and will that mean that he won't be posting on his official site or this one? No answers yet either. |
