Lucky ducks! I went shopping today and every place that I went to didn't have a copy. Said that they hadn't got them in yet, and that they were probably going to get them in this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I had no choice to come home empty handed!

That's why I, the day before (phone or in person), always ask if and what time on the next day they will get the single in. Just to avoid being in a predicament like that. And pesonally I think it's silly having a release date when they know it's impossible to get the cd to all the stores in time. I'd rather all stores wait a day or so, so every store can release at the same time.

I went and bought mine today! People who haven't heard it yet might not want to read....I was a tiny bit disappointed in it. Don't start throwing things at me, it's nothing serious - it's just that I think they tend to drown out the singer's voice a bit when they record Idol singers. Damien's not the only one I've thought that about, and I don't know why anyone would want to drown him out! I just think the backing track should've been turned down a notch or too, I wanted to hear his voice more! I'd love to hear an acoustic version of this with just him playing a guitar and singing! Otherwise I loved the arrangement - his phrasing was lovely, the percussion, the guitar licks, it sounds superb. I just want to turn down everything else though and let his voice be heard more. I hope when he releases an album he keeps his arrangements simple and doesn't crowd in heaps of sounds, just cause he can now. Things like Wicked Game and Hallelujah were great because they were simple. I don't know if I'm the only one who thought that...anyway, CD cover is awesome, great pic, is the flower logo on the disc his new personal icon or something? Come to Me sounds like the one that was on My Space. No complaints there, I thought they'd redo it was this version is lovely!

I only found it at one store today in the Melbourne CBD, which was JB HIFI in Bourke St if anyones interested! Of course, I was expecting to see it at the other JB HIFI store in the city too, so on my way there I stopped by the post office and sent it... TO BRAAAAZIIIL! *excited to be spreading the D LOVE worldwide!* So imagine my dissapointment when the other store didnt have it! NOOOO! Neither did any other aria charting store in the CBD. Of course, the hundred copies or so at HMV taunted me like a cruel and heartless child, but I resisted.... till I go back to Bourke St store tomorrow

They over-engineered it, which makes it less personalised. His voice is easily good enough not to have given it that treatment. I want my Damien idiosynchrosies damn it!! I suppose the range is still there, they can't get rid of that.

I didn't think of ringing around because I was going shopping today anyway. We have a discount bus that goes every three months and yeah I was going on that today anyway. I thought that they'd all have it in by the time I went there. So now I've probably gotta wait a couple of weeks before I get it! I don't live near any shops that sell cd's so it's a bit impossible for me to get it. It's not really worth getting one of the shops to send me out a cd that only costs like $4 or something.

Went around a few places this afternoon and couldn't find a copy of the single. In Big W the lady in the CD section was nice and went to check if it was waiting to be unpacked, and said it will probably be in tomorrow. I did manage to get the Idol DVD, which placated me some. I agree, what I've heard of the recorded version is the usual 'heaven forbid we let anyone think an Idol winner can sing' drowning out of vocals. However, I do think the vocals sound beautiful, if very different to how Damien has sounded previously on the show and in his other recorded stuff. I still like it and will play it heaps, and I have faith Damien will make sure his voice shines more in the rest of his album. I'm accepting that time constraints would have been a problem for him with NOML - he had to arrange and record the song, and I think it turned out pretty well given that.

It wasn't just me then After work I went shopping. First to K-mart - not there. Then to Target - not there. Then to David Jones - not there. Then to the record store ... yay there it was - but I don't know if their sales count towards Aria. So lastly I went into BigW. Sure enough there it was. Grabbed 2 copies and went to pay. There was a bitch of a woman at the counter. After I paid I offered to show her my other bags. But she wouldn't let me out of the store until I had shown her the receipts from the previous shops - she wouldn't believe that I hadn't bought all the stuff in BigW. Now I have a trillion receipts in my bag and the woman made me go through every single one of them. When I protested she told me she would call her supervisor. . Finally I found the receipt and then I got a lecture from the woman for not keeping my receipts in a nice neat, accessible place. Well Damien is worth it. To calm my nerves I listened to the CD in the car on the way home. Hearing Night of My Life without having Jessica's version to compare it to, I realised that, as good a job as Damien did in rearranging it - it's still a pretty cheesy Idol song. How good was it to hear Come to Me after it. It's leaps and bounds ahead of Night of My life. They should have got Damien to write the winners song - he's brilliant.

Sometimes I wonder about the people who work in those stores - last I heard they were getting paid to serve you and shut up and smile about it. You should have threatened to make a complaint about her being bitchy to you and seen if that shut her up. ^_^ Fortunately the girl at the counter when we got the Idol DVD was really sweet - a Shannon Noll fan I think, although my mother was too busy rattling on about Damien for me to find out for sure. Post-Idol blues, uh-huh. It's gonna take a while to get over it not being on. I was glad to get the DVD with some of Damien's songs on it. *will shut up about it eventually* Wanted to hit Kyle for the way he went on at Damien during his audition, but Damien handled himself really well, haha Kyle. And Mark was all, 'Let's throw all the rules out the window for this guy!' I don't want to hit him quite as much as usual right now...

What's the DVD Kamit?
I thought about complaining about that woman (errr...um...I've got PMS today as well as PIDD) - but decided - after fuming for about 2-3 hours - that she wasn't worth it. i know you can't see me - but I really do not look like a person who will buy 2 CD's and then shoplift 3 bags full of kids stuff. I have a very honest face

Does that count? Wow - what a great name for it - ofcourse it counts. I'm just not sure that I could go out and tell people that "I've come down with Damien" (I wish) - and the only symptom I have is the blues
