Bought a copy from Borders at Bondi Junction today - only 3 left. But had to hunt for them upstairs - at the checkouts they had Anthony Callea and Il Divo stacked at each. hey dededom - you're from my neck of the woods - howdy - I bought mine in BigW at Eastgardens on Tuesday - it was the only place there that had them I bought mine in the Junction as well on Tuesday. Maybe that's why I had to go to so many stores. The other Damienites got there before me and bought out all the stock. ;D

Well I couldn't hold out any longer and just went and bought mine.
Let me tell you it took a considerable effort to walk past Sanity with their prominently displayed copies of D's single and their check-out with absolutely no queue, and walk into a heaving mass of frenzied Christmas shoppers that was Big W.
When I got to the counter with my D copy, which I plucked from the No.2 position (grrr) of top selling singles, I was served by The Woman With No Punctuation. "Oooh quick tell me where you got this we're having trouble keeping track of them and oh now remember that his DVD comes out soon and his album comes out in January so don't forget to buy them oooh wasn't Damien just fantastic he sent shivers down my spine all the time oooh he was just superb and my brother rang from Sydney to tell me who had won but I didn't want to know and ooh I was so happy but Jess was a lovely girl she'll do well too but Damien was just something else here's your receipt". !!! Damien might've sustained his last note of Nessun Dorma for a long time, but he wasn't a patch on this woman let me tell you! I think I got a "yeah", "u-huh" and "cheers" out, but that was about it.
Anyway, loving both songs on the single. NoML is growing on me I'll admit it (and as they say, the best songs always do)

Let's just say I'm furious! I finally was able to get into town today and checked if my local Sanity store had Damien's single, not to buy, just to see if it was in stock. I Couldn't see it displayed anywhere and when I asked the salesgirl, she pulled the CD up from behind the counter. It is selling for $5.00 plus. The price doesn't worry me but I told the girl that I couldn't buy it from Sanity because they don't award Aria votes to Damien. She looked at me blankly and said "I didn't know that." Well I didn't either until Janny posted her very useful information last week. When I walked passed Sanity half an hour later, to their credit they were playing NOML full blast and it sounded wonderful! My next stop was my local (Aria accredited) Target store. I asked the salesgirl for Damien's single and I also received a blank look from her and then she informed me that they wouldn't be getting the single in any time soon, perhaps I should try Sanity! I was furious to put it mildly!!! I didn't want to take my anger out on the salesgirl but I did inform her that the single had gone gold and why didn't they have it in stock? I then asked to speak to the manager. The 'manager' is a figment of everyone's imagination, he/she just doesn't exist especially on a Saturday afternoon. To give the salesgirl credit, she did inquire to 'someone' in the store and she told me later that they would eventually be getting Damien's single but not anytime soon. I said thank you but I was seething! So who do I contact about this? Just because I live in a country area (Merimbula, NSW) it doesn't mean that I should have to wait for however long for Damien's single and this gives me little hope of obtaining Damien's souvenir CD/DVD next week. When I arrived home I searched on line and finally found a Target Customer Relations phone number and I will be phoning them first thing Monday morning. If anyone's interested the number is 1800 814 788. I don't know how much success I'll have! If anyone has a phone number for SonyBMG that I could also call, please let me know. I'm in a kickarse mood! I Chose the smiley above just because it makes me feel good!

You could pretend I'm from overseas. I have Irish, Italian heritage.....Vincero, Vincero! Seriously though, I'm am sick of the complacent attitude here and I'm going to do something about it! As I said, I have Irish and Italian blood, a volatile mix let me tell ya. I phoned my local radio station earlier in the week requesting that they play Damien's single......I'm still waiting. In the interim I'm 'entertained" by such songs as the theme from Mash, and other rubbish that I just don't even really take in! They do play Anthony and Guy's music now and again but most of it is just mind numbing crap!
Fear not for me because I've put my kickarse boots on and I'm ready to do battle but in the nicest possible way. I'll be so saccharine sweet they'll wonder what hit them and I will get what I want! As the saying goes "You attract a lot more ants with honey."
