I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT Wonderful songs, fantastic album. I brought the album home, put it in the DVD player turned the volume up, poured a glass of wine for DH and myself and we sat outside listening to the album as the sun was setting. Absolute bliss! And I think the neighbours may have appreciated the beautiful music wafting from our place. ;D I know all of the songs on the album and Damien's interpretation of them is exquisite. Two of my favourites when I was growing up were Longer and Time In A Bottle and to hear Damien sing these classics is nothing short of sublime. I love what Damien has done with Everybody's Talking by Harry Nilsson. The lyrics have been slowed down and the arrangement is beautiful. In fact the arrangement of every song is beautiful but Everybody's Talking really grabbed me. Damien's rendition of Baby I Love Your Way is When he sings Oooh Baby I Love Your Way, it feels like he's singing directly at you. It is very sensual. No, it's just downright sexy. I can't pick just one favourite from the album, I love them all. DH said that it is a great album, Damien has done well. ;D BTW, I heard a snippet of Baby Jane on iTunes today. It's very folksy and I can't wait to hear the entire song and I'm busting to know the inspiration behind this song.

I got a copy today because I was too impatient to wait for my pre-ordered one to turn up Just listening to it for the 3rd time now I knew most of the songs although there was some I didn't like that much but after hearing Damien sing them his versions are heaps better *of course * I already love Ronan's newer version of Father & Son *the older one's ok too but the newer ones much better* but Damien's comes in a very very cloooose second ;D I can't really pick a fav I love most of them, there's just a couple that have to grow on me yet though.

I got the album today. I was going to wait until I got home tonight to listen properly but of course couldn't wait so listened earlier on. I was completely blown away, it's even better than I thought it would be. It's just absolutely devine. I hadn't heard half the songs before and am still not completely familiar with all of them. My faves are 'Wild World', 'Father And Son', 'Baby I Love Your Way' and 'If' so far. I really like Cat Stevens and love Damien's interpretation of both songs. I love his unique version of Baby I Love Your Way I hadn't heard 'If' before and I was just blown away by this song. It's such a beautiful and amazing song. I must have a listen to the original. I love all the songs though and could go on and on

This album should have a warning label: Do not attempt to operate heavy machinery while listening to this album.Because I don't know how I managed to drive to Five Dock when I don't remember any traffic lights, other vehicles... anything! Damien's voice was totally mesmerising from the first note of Catch the Wind. Annie's Song left me in awe and Damien's voice just kept sinking deeper into my senses and consciousness... Universal Soldier : I don't know the original lyrics but this version really had me thinking about the poignancy of the words, especially this weekend. Then, without warning... woosh! the hormones! as he caressed the lyrics of Baby I Love Your Way. I just can't get over how passionate it makes me feel for my gorgeous hubby. This has got to be a single - please? I'm going to wear out my cd just on this song alone!. I've repeated it now three five times but am making myself move on to the other brilliant songs. My other standout favourites today, in no particular order, are Longer, Sunshine on my Shoulders, Wild World, Annie's Song, Father and Son, Everybody's Talking... geez! at this rate it'll be every song!! Lol, it is. I love them all. But some songs I have to repeat because I just want to experience the thrill again of a particular lingering note, or emphasised syllable, upbeat rhythm or thought provoking lyric. I love the sparse accompaniment that gives most of this album the acoustic quality that compliments Damien's vocals. Well done to Damien's backing muso's The use of The Choir of Hard Knocks was an inspired choice especially with Only Love Can Break Your Heart. Damien has managed to provide a richly textured tapestry of vocal styles, arrangements and messages. They may be covers but Damien's interpretations are fresh for today's listener - of any generation. If Catch the Wind is an indication of his future originals direction, I'm all for it. I do believe that the first original album, Where We Land, already does have equally beautifully crafted songs - deserving of becoming classics, too (and one day may be so). But the conscious adding of more strings to his bow is a sign of Damien's diverse talents as well as typical of the humbleness of the man to keep enriching his craft. Everyone associated with it should be very proud of this album, Catch the Wind. Congratulations, Damien on your third brilliant album.

I love your bonus song Baby Jane, which I downloaded from iTunes, great work, just wish it had been on the album too.

What an amazing album. Damien sounds absolutely wonderful. IF is my favourite and Baby I Love Your Way's arrangement is HOT.HOT HOT. but all the songs have that magic Damien touch. Love the Hard Choir Of Knocks The music in Everybody's Talking is sensational. This has certainly taken me back to my flower child days in the 60's. Nixter

BREAKING NEWS: I JUST BOUGHT THE CD. I've listened to a bit of it so far! Verdict: EXCELLENT! Damien's voice is pure heaven! And the musical arrangements are lovely! I hope this one is a bigger success than WWL for him! Favourite songs so far: Vincent, Wild World, Time In A Bottle.... but there isn't a bad track on the CD.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the shops for a few days, so after I seeing Damien on TV this morning, I realised I couldn't wait that long, and decided to just make my own way to the shops. I bought the album from Sanity. Lol, I looked around for ages on the shelves trying to find it, but I couldn't. So I asked the guy in the shop if they had it, and he pointed it out on the part of the shelf that I'd just been staring at earlier. The same thing happened when I bought WWL and OMT, I stared at them for ages but never found them until the shop person pointed them out. My excuse is that there was a price sticker over Damien's face. (Which I have just managed to rip off without leaving a sticky mark. ) I want to listen to the album all in one go, so I'm waiting until after Damien is on 2UE so that I don't have to stop half way through to listen to that. So at the moment I'm just kind of holding the album and reading everything. And checking out the HAWT PHOTOS! WOW! I've read the acknowledgements (Woohoo, we were mentioned! ), and I like how they sound a lot more like Damien's words than the acknowledgements in the last two albums. I've also read the bit written by Glenn A. Baker, which is quite interesting. Once I've listened to the album a few times, I'll add my thoughts on the music here. SQUEE!
