Of course you don't Zeeta, I was having a Senior's moment!! I'm sure he'll get there with the play later in the year as it is certainly worth touring the whole country with. Reviews have been excellent.

Brilliant stuff Brian.
I have just booked another ticket for DD for the Launnie show, will drag her along screaming and shouting, but she has to see it! We've booked dinner as well. I asked the girl how the ticket sales were going and she said very well, they have opened up bookings for the upstairs as well!!
WOO HOO!! Go Damien!! I know the Tasmanians love him, although they don't show it which makes me mad... so staid, no woo-hooing or squeeee-ing over there (except from yours truly)
JUST REMEMBER.....YOU NEED TO HAVE RAIN TO GET THE RAINBOW

It's great news that there are only about 4 or 5 tickets left for the Sunday afternoon show at the Hayes Theatre this weekend and that Canterbury Leagues is almost SOLD OUT.
Well done Glawz buying your DD a ticket. She will love it.

That's great news to hear tickets are selling and accomodation for Sept booked up! Way to go Damien!
Enjoy your show tonight Braffy. I will log on and see how sales are going for Wangaratta too! Started the push for Wangaratta August 1. I posted a review on the Wangaratta entertainment centres FB page, they have asked if they could use it for the show promotion. Every bit of promotion has got to help!

The Parting Glass - Ryde Eastwood 04 JULY 2015 Hi everyone, I'm here a few days after seeing this show but still thinking about how much I enjoyed it and wanted to get a quick review "on paper" while I have a chance. Have posted some pics over in the gallery section also. I'm being careful not to write spoilers here so am purposely being a little obscure on some details such as setlist etc, but hopefully enough info to give a sense of how much we enjoyed It's been a few months now since I'd seen the preview show and it has changed quite a bit since then, as everyone who has seen it here will already know. I loved it before but even moreso now, it's a longer show and not only "fuller" in amount of songs, the pace and feeling of it all as it has been evolved now seems "just right". Damien has it honed totally in the past months and this incarnation is fabulous. I love the songs that have been added, some old favourites that were great to hear after quite a few years, and also some from the new Songs from Ireland album. It all moves so seamlessly between the Black Velvet Band and the play side of the show which is done in a way now to involve the audience that seems so natural you can't imagine it being any other way, which is always a great sign. As a standalone music show too it's one of the best shows I've been to over the years, the setlist and feel of Damien with the band and the happiness they bring to the stage as well as the joy they all seem to share when playing the music extends right out into the audience and we all had a great time! The band lineup was Damien, Eric, Kevin Kelly, Cesar Marin & Jess Graham. There were plenty of uptempo songs and some incredibly moving quieter songs also, as well as the lushly romantic Irish ones. It was all just gorgeous. The way the songs are arranged through the show was beautifully paced not only for the audience as a show in itself but to keep the emotional narrative of the storyline moving with the action in the play side of the show. I LOVED the way the lighting changed between the play side and the music parts so that it read easily to the audience what was going on. In particular one key song was presented with absolutely no music or lighting other than to light Damien as he sang completely unaccompanied. It was breathtaking, and definitely the best I've ever heard him sing that song. The audience was in raptures! Afterwards at the merch stand I said to Kevin Kelly I just wanted to walk back in and see the whole show again, it was so wonderful!! And he as part of the band itself said he felt the same way! It was great to see some of our DLO members there and have a little catchup and someone we all know had a very special birthday song from Damien which was so lovely & special for her! Is nice that her name is in one of the songs too, which he mentioned! I bought the show bag (love the design on it!!!) in which I'm going to enjoy putting some of my show souvenirs I've collected over the years. Is so great to have some really nice things to buy with this show - would love to see if possible a DVD of the show one day, I think everyone would have bought it, I heard others saying they wished there was one. Would love a programme of this play also, can imagine it would be very popular. Eric said they were out of some of the items that usually go with the showbag so it was a bit of a lucky dip lol. I came away with a pen and a couple of guitar picks which I'm thrilled about, think they're fab! Damien came out to do a signing and as always is one of the highlights of the evening seeing him for a little chat. It's a nice club to see a show, always a good feeling in the room. Really hope everyone still to see the show has a fantastic time! Please put up reports of all the adventures, it's great to share the experiences and read everyone's reports from around the country
