After its rousing success at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Damien Leith brings his one man cabaret play to the Joan to open our 25th Anniversary Season in song.

The musical play which takes place in an Irish pub, sees Damien take on the role of both a father and a son as they get to the bottom of a deep secret that has haunted them both.

Filled with humour, emotion and great Irish music, The Parting Glass showcases Damien Leith not only as a singer, but as a fine actor.

Featuring worldwide smash hits Hallelujah and Wicked Game, as well as the iconic Danny Boy, sung by one of Australia’s favourite Irishmen, accompanied by the stirring Irish Times Band.

I'd love to see this play but I can't get to Sydney or Melbourne at the moment because of work. I commented on Facebook that Damien should do a show in Newcastle and to my delight, he replied He said that if he gets enough requests for a Newcastle show, he'll see if something can be arranged. Not sure if he was just being nice, or if it could actually happen, but if anyone lives in the Newcastle area and would love to see The Parting Glass, let's request it like mad!!
