I had a feeling this would be the single......and I'm kinda happy I haven't heard him sing it yet so it will make the single release all that more special!

Yes, i think it needs "wish" at the end because it is much more intimate that way.

Although D sings differently at concerts I believe the single will be as per the original .............

I listened to this on my drive into work just now and gosh it is a hauntingly beautiful melody and Damien's voice is very well suited to it. *sigh* It will be so nice when it is on rapid repeat on every Aussie radio station soon ... Edit - you can hear a snippet of Andy Stochansky's version here: music.msn.com/album/?album=29455614# or you can download it from Itunes etc .. or continue to save your pennies and buy D's of course

My sister reports that all her boys are addicted to the song from the recordings she took home. And I seem to have more or less memorised the whole song after only a few listens. Somehow it is insidiously catchy. ;D

I can hardly wait to hear it. All we seem to do is wait these days. We need a pacing smilie, although maybe more for Damien than the rest of us.

Thanks for the words gj and the link dede but I will be waiting patiently for Damiens single release so as to only have his version playing over in my head. Just like I have his live Crying version on my MySpace page to listen to over and over....

I've booked my Single and Album already with Sanity!! The lady said that they don't have a date down yet for release, and that when it comes in she will phone me!! She also said, that usually if a song is released to radio it can take up to 6 weeks before they get it in the stores. Also that if the single arrives on the Thursday, they won't start to sell it till the Saturday, as that is the day that sales start to be counted towards the Aria sales. However, I then went and asked at HMV and they said it usually is only 3 - 4 weeks wait after the radio release! Two different responses to the same question!! I'm just happy that the single will be here soon! ;D

I haven't heard it and I don't want to until Damien releases his version. Irishrokit, when I first read your post I thought of our Andy here on the forum and I thought you had listened to her copy. Then I realised that she wasn't at the concert where Damien sang it and being a true Damienite she would have kept it quiet like Damien had requested and not shared it. This is what happens when you read a post in isolation, I had forgotten that it was written by Andy S.

Hi guys can we please not post the Hobart version of 22 Steps at all even when his single comes out. It was a rough version without the full music and backing and it's not meant to be put up here and compared. It's just for the girls that went to the concert, thanks.
