1st. October,  thanks Roxy. I love reading and I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I'll be taking it to Canberra in November for Damien to sign. Oh now there's a thought - if we are getting one signed, maybe it's a good idea to buy one to read and carry around for when there's a moment free at a cafe to dip into the next chapter or something, and another one to keep perfect in mint condition and that one could be signed? but then again, there's something nice about the thought about the "lived in"book being the signed one too... a read book is more alive somehow... lol, sorry, thinking aloud here!!! |

ok, I've decided, am going to have my "lived in" one signed, that's the one that will mean more to me as that's the one I'll be reading. I won't order mine in (lol, I like to live on the EDGE!!!  )- I like the thrill of sudenly seeing them in an unexpected shop window (wonder which one will have it first!!!) as I walk past and chirping with joy and going in to get them  |

Fantastic to have a date for the book. I love a good read ,I am a bookaholic. .Birthday and Christmas shopping sure is easy this year. ;D I wonder if he will do any signings? |

Noooooo the hiker fell off the mountain!!   I was so excited when I saw that on Idol! I think Damien just likes to keep us guessing!.......the tease  I think I may have an idea for Damien for a present....... a years supply of pens so he will always be prepared and ready when signing stuff for the Damienites  .......... Cds, T-shirts, and now Books!! |

Some slightly 'in the know' info from your friendly bookseller....... My HarperCollins rep is having a very hard time getting me a reading copy and has hinted that the book may be under embargo. The first of the month is a general date for book release, and many come out in the last few days of the month before, but he thinks this may be held off until the 1st (which is a holiday in many places - ours used to be the second week of Oct but we fell into line with the eastern states as usual  ) I think the blurb is pretty crap actually, I will be making a 'shelf talker' about it and am thinking of doing a special display If you want to order a copy, make sure it is with a good Aussie company like Dymocks, steer clear of Borders ;D My shop has ordered lots of copies for a first book, but then the boss knows I will be pushing it hard (as long as it is any good ) |

Great to know that it's less than a month away now.
I must confess, I'm a bit of a bookworm and the books seems fairly intriguing.
I can already imagine the most delectable descriptions of scenery of Nepal in the book.
How great would it be if the book became a bestseller.

I hope that when the bookis released that you will not be discussing the storylines on the forum. SOme of us may
A) not have it yet
B) not be as fast at reading it
C) want to find out for themselves what happens.
