NSW (Sydney) Meet and greet DL for the bookHere's the link (you may have to copy and paste cause it's a long one) 72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:xON8zSi5418J:bookweb.kinokuniya.co.jp/indexohb.cgi%3FAREA%3D06+%22damien+leith%22%2B+ireland+%2Bseptember+%2B+2007&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=36&gl=au This is what it said:
Meet Damien Leith Winner of Australian Idol 2006 Join us for fine food and discussion at Mulligan's Irish Restaurant. Damien will be talking about his debut book One More Time, a novel he started writing while trekking in Nepal. WHEN: Wednesday, 17 October at 7pm WHERE: Mulligan's Irish Restaurant, 137 Cleveland Street, Chippendale COST: $65 inc GST (includes two course Irish dinner, a glass of wine and a copy of One More Time) BOOKINGS:# In person at the cashier counter # Phone orders (credit card only) - please ring 9262 7996 and press 3 for English Book Department # Internet This is no ordinary holiday ... Sean is in Nepal on a trek through some of the most beautiful - and dangerous - country in the world. His path takes him not just to the spectacular Annapurna mountains, but deep into territory held by Maoist guerrillas determined to overthrow the Nepalese government. With each step, however, Sean's thoughts turn towards home and his family in Dublin, and it becomes clear that the obstacles he faces are greater than the threat of guerrillas demanding 'donations' and the occasional stubborn travelling companion. Why did he leave Ireland so hurriedly? Why didn't he tell his family where he was? What makes his guide, Maila, look at him so strangely? And what about the beautiful Serena, who has inspired him to take this journey, last seen on an idyllic beach in India? As Sean travels through Nepal, events run out of his control, and to survive he must find the courage to confront his secret once and for all...

Roxy, the HarperCollins rep was in today and I asked him if Damien might come for a signing when he comes for the concert, and he didn't seem to know. I hope D might be able to pop in to see me and sign books even if it is not a 'signing'. PS These things are offered to the shops rather than us asking for it. My boss is great, she met D at the Dymocks conference, I said 'mention my name, Damien will know who you mean' I don't think she believed me, but of course he did If there was a tiny chance of a signing, she would be on it for me.

I noticed at Liverpool Westfield (NSW) Dymocks had two on the shelf (spine out - no cover feature) but the A & R didn't have it out yet. I held it in my hand and really had to resist buying it cause I'm saving that for the book launch in 2 weeks. .. I will be strong... hmmm?
