Hydro Majestic Show Saturday Sept 12 2015.
Damien was terrific as usual but this time is was a lot different to what we have seen before.
First --The concert room was perfect for the show and there would have been around 140 people there I guess.
Damien did sing some songs other then the" Songs from Ireland" album including Crying/Wicked Game/Without a fight. He sounded as good as ever with them.
What stood out for us was how ever good he was in the acting role the story telling --We were both taken back as to how good he was -- OUTSTANDING !!!!!
He was so believable --I mentioned after the show to him that he should be in Bold and the Beautiful or Home & Away in jest however he id have a laugh neverthe less after tonight's performance nothing would surprise me with him.
The audience were terrific responding to the various moods of the show.
We sat with people who had come from Adelaide for the show and had never seen him before ---They were so impressed and told us that they would be going and telling there friends to go when he is in Adelaide.
I actually think that the Brass Monkey venue is ideal as it is a bar and would so suit the story being told so looking forward to that.
Thanks Damien for a wonderful night.

Assuming this is the first time you have seen The Parting Glass Brian? I first read it was a lot different to what you've seen before, assuming that you had seen another version... he has changed it slightly from the beginning, kept on refining it to it's current state. It sure is a surprise and adds another string to Damien's bow. It is great to have those other songs included, assuming he did Crying and Hallelujah as well? Brilliant stuff. I told him at one stage that I was concerned about how he was going to better it! Big job ahead for him.
By the way, he is/has been working on a TV show/series? recently in an acting capacity, will be played on SBS next Feb I think, but keep eyes open for the announcement.

Thanks for coming in to tell us about the show Brian.
It is so well done that if people were expecting an all singing concert that they wouldn't be disappointed that it is a play as well.
It's good that you will get to see it again at The Brass Monkey, Cronulla on 27th November. Most of us have seen it more than once, such is the enjoyment of it.
Wow! People coming from Adelaide and they haven't heard Damien before. Not unexpected that they were suitably impressed and will be seeing it again in a couple of weeks. Good to hear they are going to tell their friends too.
Thanks again Brian

One more note on the Hydro Majestic Show that I forgot to mention.
The people from Adelaide that we meet at dinner prior to the show had several of Damien's albums however they had never seen him live before they told us at dinner.
My wife told them that once you see him perform live you are going to be hooked you know I really mean it she said. They smiled and went off to the show lounge while we were still having dinner.
They acquired a good table 3 rows back from the stage and had saved us seats.
They seemed so happy throughout the whole show and the both spun around and looked at us pointing to goose bumps on their arms every time that Damien went into his falsetto mode.
We saw them outside getting photos with Damien and they called and said WE ARE HOOKED WOW --HE IS FANTASTIC--

That is a great story Brian, one that seems to be echoed by a lot of people. After seeing Damien for the first time.
It certainly would have added value to their holiday and what's the bet those CD's start being played again.
Hopefully there will be a lot of the same reaction after the Coffs Harbour show this Saturday night.

Wow...wow...wow...! Coffs Harbour The Parting Glass. Smiley ..gobsmacked and soo so proud! I have not read anything really about The Parting Glass, so was like the rest of the audience (other than being pre-existing full on for the man!! Haha!!) Great crowd, looked sold out. They loved him! (my friends were impressed! They didn't know anything about D or my obsession devotion! Absolutely loved the story. And Damien did it so well. He really sold the characters. My friend was in tears at the end. It was the end of a very long Damien drought..I last saw him in Tamworth in Jan 2013 (that seems like so long ago) I got my and chat. Very sweet!
